My friend "Martin"

So I decide to go out for dinner because I have been at home all day and as I was out waiting for my order which took forever. I met a German guy called Martin who happened to be here for a week. It’s very rare that I just start talking to random friendly strangers for no reason but he seemed to be very nice. he asked me questions about Oman...And I got to know more about Germany…he was very talkative and fun to get to know…yes people say you should never talk to strangers because its not safe or something but Martin was like a guy that I already knew and we got along very quickly, although I was surprised at some people who just stared or looked away when he smiled at them, its not very often that a stranger smiles at you while you while wait in line for your dinner…but it taught me something, sometimes its okay to be yourself, despite what people might say or think...

My day at the mall..

It is the summer holiday and I was spending my week with my cousins and since we had nothing else to do we decided to go to "City center" a mall that is well known in my country (Sultanate of Oman) but of course we wanted to do something different so we decided to dress in a Burqa3 (covering our whole face except for our eyes..)

So anyway as we got there of course the three of us had second doubts about going through the whole thing but I insisted on doing it…and so we walked in dressed differently, at first it felt weird because people were staring at me like I was going to harm them or do something to them or most of them would lower their gaze, even as a customer in some shops I was treated like I was uncivilized and some sales people thought I was slow or something. Just because a person covers up her face I don’t think that it makes her uneducated or a menace to other people. I did feel unwanted by most people only a few truly respected me, but despite all of that my cousins and I managed to have fun. I had my crazy moment…and a while after that I didn’t care if people stared at me or judged me, because I knew who I was and had accomplished something I never thought I would dare to do…

I truly have great respect for the women who do this everyday.

Last day as a Tenth grader

i wrote my last exam yesterday and said goodbye to tenth grade..i am sure glad it was over!
After that a couple of friends and i decided to go out for lunch and then maybe for a movie. Lunch was great! we ended up having Chinese which was alright. So we went for a so called horror movie and some guy was sitting behind my seat with his friends and boy did they make the funniest comments! it cracked me up! whenever the movie got into one of those moments where the killer strikes again they say something..my friends and i: HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA! everyone else: SHHHHH!!!!!!!!
we had fun, i will surely miss 10th grade..

Been a while

its been a while! i wrote my SAT exam..it wasn't that bad..and i got to make new friends..!:D it was very long..i didn't expect it to be ten sections long..and we were told that we would get a 30 minute break (which we never got) the other thing that really got my attention was the college girls..maybe i expected too much from them..
they were not exactly as friendly as i thought they would be..hmm..
oh well as for their cafeteria it had everything that my school didn't offer..
all kinds of bubble gum..chips..and chocolates..well i was kind of loud when i yelled out HOW CAN THEY EAT THIS SO EARLY IN THE MORNING! but i don't think that anyone heard me..well i hope not..
the academic year is almost over..i guess that i will miss some of the classes..but i need a loong break!

Handball tournament

We've been practicing for a handball tournament all month and my team and I were very excited about it...and to tell you the truth we never won a game..XD so this was BIG..! and it was the first time we ever took part in a handball tournament which took place in QPS (Al-Qurum Private School) since this week started all we did was play against schools and these are the following results regarding my team:

Day one (Saturday): We played against Ahmed bin Majid which was our first game, the whole team was very nervous and excited but i kinda knew that we could do it because we trained all month and we were not that bad, and indeed we ended up winning! the score was 3-1..the first game i ever won..the feeling is overwhelming.

Day two (Sunday): oh that day was interesting in a way..we played against QPS..! Yes the school itself. I knew that they would win but just didn’t want to think about it that way and as far as i know we lost 1-0 and there was this annoying dude i very much wanted to murder or something..but it's alright he turned out to be not so bad after all. (i will gladly bow to that team) the game was great..! it was very exciting.

Day Three(Monday): we were told that this might be our last game before our finals and we played against ABQ (Azzan Bin Qais(sp?) i was shocked..! i don’t think that they had trained or anything 'cause they seemed to get most of the basic rules wrong but they were not so bad we won 11-1 and that was HUGE..! we were so happy..! i can't even explain how my team felt at that moment and two of my teachers came to watch as well. and today (day four) is our finals..! against MIS (Muscat International School) so just wish us luck..! and inshallah we will win. if we do win then we might get the second prize..=D

Mosquito attack..!

We ended up going to this college today with other students in our school..and they were going to give us a lecture that was all about health and sports..but as we walked into the room where we were supposed to be seated..the minute i attempted to pull my seat a huge amount of mosquitoes attacked me..! i mean what the hell was that all about..? that place was supposed to be spotless or at least clean to the eyes of their visitors i mean how could they be in a room with an enormous amount of mosquitoes..! it was horrible..! didn’t they ever hear of the diseases that mosquitoes cause and what if people from other countries come to visit their college what image would that reflect about the Omanis..was seriously horrible. Something must be done about this..*itching my arm* we should put an end to mosquitoes once and for all..!

Respect

Have you ever been in a situation where you seriously got so frustrated and just wanted it all to end..? i have..Today was one of those days where i just cant wait till this day comes to an end...i have veiwed some blogs and one of the bloggers wrote about missunderstanding and i think that's exactly what happened but since the missunderstanding was with a teacher (which has never happened to me) i just didnt know how to react..respecting someone can change in a second and dispite the way she treated me i have great respect for that woman...because she will always be older and wiser or whatever..but i have never noticed that respect can change everything between people..the way they communicate with one another and how one thing leads to something else...Some people might not think that isnt such a big deal...but can you stand the idea of knowing that someone has no respect what so ever for anything you do/did or have to say...? one word like "respect" can make such a huge difference in ones life..
